Fidelio was pleased to host our third Audit Committee Roundtable Breakfast on Wednesday 3rd July 2019. This brought together leading Audit Committee Chairs from a range of sectors and geographies. On 3rd July we were joined by Alan Stewart, Audit Committee Chair at Diageo plc and CFO of Tesco plc.

In Fidelio’s Board Search and Evaluation assignments we see the complexity facing Audit Committee Chairs increasing substantially, driven by technology, public scrutiny and regulation. The Roundtable was a forum to explore key challenges and draw upon the experience of peers. The Agenda for 3rd July included but was not limited to:

• The implications for Audit Committee Chairs arising from CMA recommendations on the future of the UK Audit market

• The interplay between the Audit Committee and risk – investor calls for the removal of the Audit Committee Chair of Boeing following the Somalian Air Crash.

• How can the Audit Committee strike the balance between protecting data while ensuring data can be used to benefit the business?
