Fidelio Partners welcomes the appointment of Hans-Christoph Hirt as an Advisory Partner. This most recent addition to the senior team further enhances Fidelio’s distinctive focus on the Board’s value contribution for shareholders and stakeholders.
Hans brings to Fidelio 25 years of illustrious experience as a leading authority in corporate governance, sustainable investing, and stewardship, latterly as a Managing Director at UBS Asset Management. His career spans roles as a corporate lawyer, investor and early pioneer in Board-level engagement, equipping him with a unique blend of expertise and perspective. Hans’ forward-thinking approach and deep understanding of stewardship align with Fidelio’s mission to build high performing Boards that thrive in today’s complex environment.
With an international track record of advising and engaging with the Boards of major global companies, Hans is exceptionally well positioned to enhance Fidelio’s Board practice. He will provide advice and guidance on Board effectiveness and shareholder engagement, both in the UK and internationally.
Hans is also a Trustee of the Hermes Group Pension Scheme (HGPS), and a member of the FCA’s Listing Authority Advisory Panel and the Investment Advisory Committee of the asset manager WHEB. Additionally, he serves as an Advisory Board Member to UCL’s Law Faculty and regularly publishes in stewardship and sustainability.

NOTES TO EDITORS Dr Hans-Christoph Hirt - Biography Dr Hans-Christoph Hirt is a non-executive director and trustee of the Hermes Group Pension Scheme (HGPS) in London, a member of the FCA’s Listing Authority Advisory Panel, and serves on the investment advisory committee of WHEB, an asset management firm focused on impact investing.
With over 25 years of experience in corporate governance and law, sustainable investing, and stewardship, Hans advises company boards, management teams and institutional investors, while also teaching at universities and business schools in the UK and Europe. A prolific author, he co-edited and contributed to a significant 2023 publication on Investment Management, Stewardship, and Sustainability.
Before transitioning to a portfolio career, Hans was a Managing Director in Sustainable Investing at UBS Asset Management, where he advanced the firm’s stewardship and impact investing strategies and led value-focused engagements with investee companies.
Previously, Hans served as the Managing Director and a board member of EOS at Federated Hermes, the leading provider of engagement and voting services, overseeing assets exceeding $1.6 trillion.
Prior to entering the asset management industry in 2004, Hans practised corporate law with international law firm Ashurst and held academic roles at the London School of Economics.
With a decade-long affiliation with UCL’s Law Faculty, where he serves as an advisory board member, his multidisciplinary expertise spans business administration, law, accounting, auditing, asset management, and climate science.
